Our hospitals
Good Hope Hospital
Located in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, approximately seven miles north of Birmingham city centre, Good Hope Hospital serves north Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and the more rural communities of south-east Staffordshire.
The hospital provides acute and general medicine with a busy Emergency Department, maternity service and theatre suites. It's also home to the Clinical Skills Suite, part-funded by the University of Birmingham.
The hospital is just a few minutes’ walk from Sutton Coldfield’s shops, bars and cafes, and is surrounded by green spaces. Sutton Park, the largest urban park in England, is a short walk away from the hospital.
Heartlands Hospital
Heartlands Hospital is based at the heart of a thriving, diverse and largely residential area of the city. A large but friendly site, it provides all the major specialties including maternity, paediatric, A&E and outpatient services.
The site also is home to the Medical Innovation Development Research Unit (MIDRU) and the region’s Centre for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine.
Further investment in the hospital site will see the opening of a multi-million pound Heartlands Treatment Centre in late 2022.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) opened in June 2010 and is located on in Edgbaston, a leafy suburb of Birmingham.
The health campus is Birmingham’s life sciences epicentre and the campus is also home to the Heritage Building (our original Queen Elizabeth Hospital built in the 1930s) and now hosts the Institute of Translational Medicine. QEHB also closely neighbours University of Birmingham, Birmingham Women’s Hospital, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Blood and Transplant, who we work closely with to do the best for our patients and colleagues.
The campus also boasts wildflower meadows and a community orchard and gardens, tended to by volunteers, community members and colleagues, who grow fruit and veg, keep bees and support better local biodiversity. The hospital’s fortnightly Farmers’ Market is a great way to pick up locally produced goods and support local businesses.
Solihull Hospital
Solihull Hospital is a small district hospital serving the Solihull borough and wider Birmingham region.
The hospital is located in the centre of Solihull’s upmarket town centre, just a short stroll from the Touchwood Shopping Centre, bars, restaurants and Brueton Park on the banks of the river Blythe.
It provides a range of outpatient, inpatient and urgent care services (including Urgent Treatment Centre) for the local community. It is also the regional centre for dermatology and newly established hub for elective surgical procedures.

There are lots of options for getting to work, and many staff choose to commute via public transport. We’ve negotiated discounted travel cards for buses, trains and Metro routes across the city so it’s not only easy, but affordable too.
