National NHS leadership programmes

The NHS Leadership Academy offers a range of leadership programmes, including:

  • The Edward Jenner Programme, to help participants who are new to leadership to build on their confidence and competence in their roles
  • The Mary Seacole Programme, designed for individuals looking to move into their first formal leadership role or who are new to first-time leadership
  • The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Programme, which aims to equip those in mid-leadership roles with the skills to drive change and improve patient experience
  • The Nye Bevan Programme, for senior leaders who are looking to develop leadership skills that help them to make a difference and provide an influence  to enhance quality of care
  • The Rosalind Franklin Programme, shaping knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of leaders working at all levels across the NHS to improve patients' care and experience
  • The Ready Now Programme for aspiring black and minority ethnic (BME) leaders who wish to move to a more senior role
